PART TWO (DAY – 1. 02. 2019)
Hello everyone! We are here with the second part of the interview. Hope you´ll like it! If you had any other question for Fernanda, let us know!
11. You swam in the ocean for the first time last year. Why hadn´t you gone there earlier? Do Brazilian children know how to swim? Because we take swimming classes since kindergarten.
I hadn’t gone there earlier because my family isn´t use to travel like the others. One of the first things that parents do here is to teach their children how to swim. Most of the children here have already known the beach and the sea. I was an exceptional case in that point lol.
12. Do you learn British or American English? (colour (British) x color (Am.), favourite (B) x favorite (A), shop (B) x store (A) ..)
Both. Actually, I need only the American one, but I have a great passion for the United Kingdom, England, London!!! So it goes well to learn the British English too.
13. Which foreign languages can you speak? Do you learn some second language at highschool? Because Czech people usually learn some second foreign language since 7th grade. We usually learn German, Spanish, French or Russian.
Just English. Most of the highschools teach just English, but some people are use to have the extracurricular classes of Spanish or even of English, yes more English. In my case I learn just English because it’s a goal for me and I don’t want another language to “disturb me”. The English speaking countries I´d like to visit some day are : Australia, USA, England and Canada.
14. Do Brazilian people understand Spanish? Is it common to learn it at school?
We can understand many words of Spanish because it sounds like Portuguese. No, we don’t have Spanish classes at highschool, I guess.
15. What do you study (at grammar school)?
Do you mean what school subjects I study? Well, Portuguese, English, history, chemistry, physics, mathematics, philosophy, biology, geography. I think it´s all.
16. What was your furthest journey?
Long Island. A beautiful place. I will go there back in December if the things go well!
17. Some typical Brazilian food that your family prepare. Which one would you recommend to a foreigner?<pre>brigadeiro, a=”” for=”” is).<p=”” it=”” what=”” imagine=”” can=”” you=”” so=”” bread”=”” “cheese=”” called=”” it´s=”” english=”” in=”” this=”” love=”” really=”” (i=”” pão-de-queijo=”” and=”” party=”” birthday=”” mostly=”” prepare=”” we=”” milk,=”” condensed=”” with=”” candy=”” chocolate=”” (a=”” brigadeiro=”” recommend=”” i=”” pão-de-queijo.=”” feijoada=””>

Brigadeiro, feijoada and pão-de-queijo. I recommend you brigadeiro (a chocolate candy with condensed milk, we prepare it mostly for a birthday party and pão-de-queijo (I really love this one, in English it´s called “cheese bread” so you can imagine what it is).
18. Any dangerous things related to your country (animals, insect, illnesses ..) Is there anything that the tourist should pay attention to?
Unfortunately, the thieves here, the amount of them depends on the place. But you don´t need to worry so much about it, just pay attention in some kind of places. And also the boring insect in the summer, but a repellent can resolve this little problem.
19. Anything that symbolizes your country (national drink, sport, food, place ..)
Soccer.
20. What is it like to celebrate Christmas in the summer? Which kind of tree do you decorate?
We celebrate Christmas in the same way as in the Britain or in the USA. The Christmas here is the same as the American or British Christmas but without snow and cold weather. The tree is the same too, a pine.
